I like this pie very much. I try to find excuses to cook it every now and then. Fortunately, all of our friends like it too. Enjoy !
120 gr. plain cooking chocolate
110 gr. butter
150 gr. sugar
60 gr. flour
15 gr. cocoa
1 orange zest
This easy and light version doesn’t include rum
We melt the chocolate together with the butter in a bain-marie* (or water bath)
With the help of a mixer, we beat the eggs with the sugar until the mix becomes white and fluffy. We pour it into the melted chocolate. Then, we add the flour, the cocoa and the orange zest. We mix them together with a wooden spoon, not the mixer, for a little while.
We butter a baking pan of approximately 20 cm. We pour our mix inside. In a pre-heated oven, we bake at 200-210 oC for 20 minutes.
* A bain-marie, also known as a water bath in English, is a French term for a piece of equipment used in cooking to heat materials gently and gradually to fixed temperatures, or to keep materials warm over a period of time.
